Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using stage.nigerent.com (the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. About Nigerent
Nigerent Limited operates an online marketplace that connects prospective tenants, shortlet guests, and buyers with property owners and agents in Nigeria. Nigerent is a technology intermediary; we are not a landlord, estate agent, letting agent, or party to any tenancy, lease, shortlet, or sale agreement entered into between a user and a property lister.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. By using the Platform you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.
3. Account Registration
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at connect@stage.nigerent.com if you suspect unauthorised access. Nigerent reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Listings
Property listers ("Hosts") are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of all information in their listings, including but not limited to descriptions, photographs, pricing, availability, and any consents or permissions required to advertise the property. Nigerent does not verify listing content and makes no representation as to the accuracy of any listing.
Hosts must not list: properties they do not have the authority to advertise; properties that are subject to legal proceedings that would prevent occupation; properties using misleading or fraudulent information. Nigerent may remove any listing at its sole discretion.
5. Enquiries and Bookings
Submitting an enquiry or booking request through the Platform does not create a binding contract. Any tenancy, lease, shortlet arrangement, or sale is solely between the user and the relevant Host or agent, subject to separate agreements entered into between those parties. Nigerent is not responsible for the performance of any such agreement.
6. Fees
Access to the Platform is currently free for both enquirers and listers. Nigerent reserves the right to introduce service fees in future, with reasonable advance notice to users.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You must not: use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; upload fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive content; attempt to circumvent the Platform by taking transactions entirely offline in a manner designed to avoid any applicable Platform fees; harass, abuse, or harm other users; introduce malicious software or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform's systems.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform (excluding user-submitted content) is the intellectual property of Nigerent Limited or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent. By submitting content (including property images and descriptions), you grant Nigerent a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Nigerent shall not be liable for: any loss arising from your reliance on any listing or user-submitted content; any dispute between a user and a Host; any loss of data, revenue, or profits; or any indirect, consequential, or special damages. Nigerent's total liability to you shall not exceed any fees paid by you to Nigerent in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nigerent Limited, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform or your breach of these Terms.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria. We encourage users to resolve disputes amicably by contacting connect@stage.nigerent.com in the first instance.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.
